Birthday Party
Birthday PartyWell, once again, it is time to plan my daughter’s birthday party. This year, she will be six years old and the older she gets, the harder it is to plan. It should be the opposite, but now, she has an opinion and idea for everything. Most of her ideas for a birthday party are a bit too grandiose for our budget or lifestyle, but it is always fun to get her input. When kids are too small to truly remember anything about their birthday party, that’s when it is easy. You can pretty much get away with almost anything. Last year, for her fifth birthday, she wanted a princess party. That way actually quite a fun theme; all of her guests arrived in princess attire. The two little boys who were invited dressed up like princes. Everyone had a blast and it was so much fun to watch. This year, she informed me that she wanted her birthday party to be a pool party. This caught me off guard, especially since we don’t have a pool. Luckily, her birthday is in one of the hottest of months, so I tried to focus on a water theme instead. I have decided to purchase a very inexpensive plastic baby pool and a slip and slide water game. The invitations that I created have images of children engaging in a water balloon fight and instruct the guests to come with their bathing suits. Luckily, our backyard is big enough for her birthday party to involve lots of water games without soaking the adult guests who are also invited. I sent my husband to the local Dollar Store to buy several water guns. The kids can splash around on the slip and slide, toss water balloons around and have water battles until they’re exhausted. Plus, we always have a piñata, so that’s extra entertainment. For More Birthday Resources :Birthday Party Kits for Boys
The best way to plan a birthday party, for any age, is to have a theme. When there’s a theme, it seems to help things flow a bit better. Guests may have a better idea of what to expect when they’re at the party, what to wear, or even what to bring. For children, a theme is so much easier to choose. It could be a favorite cartoon, a fairytale or whatever the age group seems to be into at the moment. Finding a birthday party theme for an adult can be more of a challenge. You can always plan a luau or a cookout. For more creativity and to keep the guests even more entertained – try something more creative. Plan a murder mystery birthday party. Your guests will come in costume or appropriate attire and will be more excited to attend than simply knowing that they’re coming to a birthday party. Whatever the plan is for a birthday party, just remember, it should be catered towards the interest of the person who will be celebrating their birthday. |
